Sad or Dead: The Representation of Queer Women in British Television

What started out as a statistical analysis of lesbian characters on the BBC has become a campaign to improve the standard when it comes to queer characters' storylines in dramas and soaps. The project is multidisciplinary, involving; print, performance, book making and now venturing into Live Art: 'If nothing is really real unless it happens on television' then the current representation is all that defines us, and the project aims to both draw attention to, and change this.
