Constance DimsdaleHow do religious identities interact with ideas of gender equality for young women studying at the University of Leeds?

I am exploring the relationship between religion and feminism, but I'm coming at it from a unique perspective, prioritising the thoughts and feelings of young women studying at Leeds. Firstly, this project is about personal identity, but secondly, I will use the voices of the young women to question traditional ideas about oppression and agency in religion. I will argue that religion does not simply oppress women, that women feel a sense of agency within religion despite patriarchal structures, and that feminism and religion are compatible.
